我朋友在ebay上替国内卖polo t恤的外贸商卖衣服，外贸商告诉他这衣服是100%
authentic的，买
家付钱给我朋友帐号，我朋友每单提取10美元劳务费后把余额转给国内卖家，然后国内
卖家直接寄货给
买家。

现收到GreenbergTraurig的一封类似律师函的东东，说发现我朋友卖未授权衣服了，让
他停止交易活
动等等，然后说: as outlined above, under the Lanham Act, defendants found
to
have engaged in willful trademark conterfeiting are subject to statutory
damages of up to $2,000,000.15 U.S.C. 1117 (c)(2). Were our client to
litigate, it would pursue this maximum amount. However, PRL (也就是polo
ralph lauren的缩写) USA has instructed us to offer to settle this matter
for $10,000 payable immediately in addition to the transfer to us of any
remaining units you have in inventory and your providing the demanded
information and materials. This offer is hereby revoked if you do not
comply iwht our foregoing demands by no later than the close of business
on august 7, 2009. 这封信是7月31号收到的，也就是说只有一周时间。。。。

我觉得这1w私了费有点那个啥。。。。并且这封信是律师事务所直接发给我朋友的，不
是ebay通知的。
而我朋友的地址信息等都显示在这封信里了，也就是说律师事务所肯定是通过ebay找到
我朋友的个人信
息的。

现在是周末，学校的法律咨询没开，所以想上版上来问问看有没有专业人士能给解解忧
，大概分析下是
个什么情况，好让朋友安下心来。有没有可能这种信使律师事务所批量发的，套取私了
费的啊。。。因
为才1w块，他们又不能保证留得地址电话是真的，真找起来也要耗费金钱，会不会就不
了了之了啊？

补充问题：他们为何知道是未授权商品？难道他们有polo世界各地全部经销商的list？？
